After seeing them play some good teams, why do people still say they can win it all. 2 games were given to then and UM came in and played good not great and waxed them. ND is a good team but not a top 15 team. So why are people hyping them so much?

I disagree only on one of your statements: They ARE a top 15 team. This season is going to be wide open. There are so many good teams and not enough 'average' ones. I honestly don't see a major power that will go undefeated.

Bold Statment VaTech...flowing against modern day (or at least this weeks) conventional thinking...I like it...but can't let it go at just a statement...why are they still a top 15 team?...The lost this past week, and had trouble with Tech earlier...A top 15 team can drop a game...maybe two...but not struggle right off the bat.

I don't know, I expected Notre Dame to contend for the National Championship but they've proved absolutely nothing to sustain that thought. In my mind, whether they're a top-15 team or not, they're not one to be thought of in a national title contention light. There are better teams out there (Ohio State, USC, Michigan just to name three).

Don't get me wrong ND is good but not great. Some of the kids had a great half of year, not even a whole year and now they are given the title please.

I agree with EmpireWF; Ohio State, Michigan, USC, and UF are all better than ND and ND should not be ranked that high and saying the Brady Quinn is going to win the Heismen is a joke.

There are at least 15 players better out there. Troy Smith, Chris Leak, Ray Rice, Ted Ginn Jr, just to name some.

Notre Dame is a top 15 team. Even if OSU, Michigan, USC and UF are better than they are - and let's not forget Auburn too - that's only five. Name me 10 other teams who are better than the Irish right now? WVU maybe. 9 more, then. As are as Quinn for the Heisman, I agree that I don't think he'll win it, but I'm not sure I'd put Leak or Rice ahead of him right now. Leak and Quinn are very close, and as much as I love what Rice has done, I need to see him against a higher quality defense before I can truly judge where he's at.

Ok 15 teams better than ND: Ohio State, Michigan, USC, UF, Auburn, WVU, V-Teach, Louisville, Texas, UT, LSU, Rutgers, Michigan State, Clemson and Iowa.

These schools are better than ND and on Sat MSU will beat ND and maybe just maybe people will see that they got luckly in the 1st 2 games and they should be 0-3.

Now I think they are on there way just not now, but who knows what may happen.

Come on - Clemson, Iowa, Tennessee? You really think they could beat ND right now? RUTGERS? I mean, I like what Rutgers has done right now, but they're still the 3rd best team in the Big East. Louisville, if Brohm and Bush were healthy, maybe - but without those two, no way. On the other hand, I do agree that the Irish better be on upset alert this weekend vs. MSU.

I think they could beat ND, I think they are going the right way but top 15, just to monay teams playing way better then ND right now. MSU may pull it out, So ND better come to play or we could seeing a repeat on saturday.
