Re: Will Travis Thomas play Ironman football?

Linebacker Travis Thomas, a converted running back, actually carried the ball six times for 19 yards against Georgia Tech, and according to the above article, Charlie Weis may consider using him on offense more throughout the season. Is this a good idea, or should Thomas focus on becoming a top-notch defender instead of a two-way player?

Re: Will Travis Thomas play Ironman football?

It worked out great against Ga. Tech, and I think you'll see it again Saturday vs. Penn St. Of course, the Irish have the heralded Thunder and Lightning freshmen waiting in the wings, and as Charlie Weis gets more comfortable with them this will allow him the luxury perhaps of utilizing Travis exclusively on defense. He had a huge stop late in the game Saturday and that is where he is needed.
