The road to the national title starts tonight for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, as they travel to Georgia Tech to take on the Yellow Jackets. As I said in the I Can't Beleive It! thread, this one's not gonna be easy for Charlie Weis and company. The Ramblin' Wreck's passing attack, led by QB Reggie Ball and WR Calvin Johnson, is a major source of concern what with the questionable Irish secondary. Can Notre Dame survive this early season test?

Wow, the Irish kicker missed a field goal late in the fourth quarter. Now it's 14-10, Irish but there's plenty of time for Georgia Tech to mount an upset.

I'll tell you what, Georgia Tech dominated that first half. Notre Dame's come back and taken the lead here in the second, but as you say, Empire, still plenty of time. Quinn has not looked sharp, and that WR Johnson has 7 catches for 110 yards and a TD thus far. This is gonna come down to the wire, I guarantee you that!

National title? Only if they lose. Heisman for Quinn? Well, he's got to play a lot better than this in the weeks to come.

Rough start on that National Title though...other contenders are rolling over people...sure Tech is a good team but 14-10 does not postive headlines make.
