KENOSHA -- Northwestern linebacker Quentin Davie does not carry an NRA card. But he is a member of the Gun Club.
Any Wildcats football player can join, as long as he's willing to have his biceps measured each week. The results go on a wall in the weight room.
"I got mine to 18 1/2 (inches)," Davie said proudly after practice Monday at Camp Kenosha.
When Northwestern signed Davie out of Cardinal Ritter College Prep in St. Louis, the Wildcats' coaches hoped he would become an animal in the weight room. And that he did.
"He came in as a basketball player, 190 pounds," linebackers coach Randy Bates said. "Now he's 230 and fast and big."
