| North Carolina Tarheels vs. Virginia Tech Hokies The Tarheels will be traveling to Blacksburg on Saturday, September 29, 2007 to the play the Hokies of Virginia Tech at 12:00pm. The game will be televised regionally through Raycom/LF sports. The Tarheels are coming off of a devastating lost to the Bulls of South Florida. T.J. Yates looked like a red shirt freshman completing only 11 passes for 85 yards with no TD's and 4 ints. The lone UNC TD was from True Freshman Ryan Houston who burned his redshirt by making his first appearance on the season rushing 11 times for 43 yards and 1 TD which was primarily in the 4th quarter. Houston is what I call a man-child standing in at 6-2 and listed at 245. I believe he is all of 255 myself (but that is just my opinion). The Hokies played a very bad William and Mary team and ran away with the win 44-3. This could be a great weak for the Heels to pull of an upset of a nationally ranked team that could very well be looking past UNC in preparation of their trip to Death Valley against Clemson.

| Re: North Carolina Tarheels vs. Virginia Tech Hokies Lefty, the thing that always has upset me about my beloved Heels is that they get hot at the worst part of the game, basically when it's almost over with. Until the Heels can establish a consistent running game, and not have someone come in and start doing good and the end, they will not go anywhere. Elzy did not see much time in the first half, it was mostly Houston. Elzy gained most of his yardage in the 2nd half. We also have to learn out to stop the other team's offense. We have to learn to stop these QB's that move in the pocket and also learn to wrap up when we tackle. That's the biggest problem in football today. Everyone is going for the big hit and the highlight real hit instead of the fundamental hit that will bring the opposing player down. |
