| North Carolina vs. James Madison The Butch Davis era in North Carolina opens this Saturday as the Tar Heels host James Madison. The outcome really isn't in doubt here - UNC should win easily. That said, what do all of you expect out of the new, improved Heels in their first game under their new head coach?

| Re: North Carolina vs. James Madison So I know you probably didn't get to watch the game seeing that it was only being aired on ESPN360, but it was a great game. UNC won 37-14. T.J. Yates was 13-18 for 213 yards passing with one interception. UNC started the game off with a 3 play drive that was capped off with a 65 yard touchdown to a very wide open Brooks Foster from T.J. Yates. Yates looked very comfortable in the backfield. He was not sacked at all which speaks a lot for the o-line. The Defense looked very stout but suffered some on the running of the QB and RB who utilized a spread option attack. UNC's running game still is in need of some work. Johnny White lead the Heels with 12 carried for 49 yards. UNC had a total of 100 yards rushing utilizing 3 rb's throughout the game. Anthony Elzy had to short yardage td's for the Heels. The atmosphere was amazing. It's the first time in a long time that I have seen the house full at kickoff. UNC fans usually trickle in throughout the first quarter. The pre-game was capped off with two UNC alumni and retired Navy parachuter's dropping in delivering the game ball and game flag. The last parachuter that was bringing the game flag in buzzed the James Madison Football team which caused the crowd to erupt but the were even louder when he landed on the 50 yard line right on the UNC logo. It was a great day for UNC football and a great start to the Butch Davis era at UNC. |
