David Noel

Talk about picking up the slack! North Carolina lost their top seven scorers from last season and were supposed to be a mediocre team this year. But they've really found a secret weapon in this kid Noel. He didn't even average four points per game in 2004-05, but this season the senior's up to over 12 points per game. More than numbers, though, is the leadership qualities he brings to the table. Now, thanks largely to Noel, the Heels have won 7 out of their last eight, with the only loss coming to Duke, and are just half a game out of second place in the conference. Truly amazing.

Noel took a leadership position on this team and it has shown. He is doing a great job of keeping the team together, and helping out the younger guys.

Carolina got a player in Freshman Tyler Hansbrough. He should definitely be the ACC Freshman of the Year as he is averaging 18.8 PPG and 7.5 RPG. Those are great numbers for a senior in this conference, let alone a freshman.

Re: David Noel

If I am not mistaken, I read today were UNC has won 8 of their last 10 games before tonights game. David Noel and the rest of the heels showed they are for real tonight. Beating Virginia with tough aggressive defense and offense was an incredible thing to watch. I can not remember when I have enjoyed a carolina game like this one. Oh! Yeah, when I was at the Final Four last year and saw Coach Williams win his first National Championship. Now that was Amazing.
