Roy Williams-Coach of the Year

Who agrees with me that Williams should be the National Coach of the Year. He lost four guys to the first round of the NBA draft, and somehow has the Tar Heels sitting at 17-6, and winners of 6 out of their last 7.

It appears that they have hit their stride at the right time. Williams has done a great job with a team full of inexperienced underclassmen!

That certainly is amazing. I remember at the end of last season that they said he would be losing something like 70% - 90% of his offensive production coming into this year. And lo, he has a team that has really has a good chance of making some noise in March. Definitely a fantastic coaching job, no doubt about it!

I recall the same statistic. Anytime you lose four guys like Felton, McCants, May, and Williams you have to expect a large drop off. That simply put did not happen. This group did a great job of rebounding from their personnel losses, and fielding a very competitive team.

Re: Roy Williams-Coach of the Year

Carolina destroying Virginia tonight should quit the noise about the Virginia coach getting ACC coach of the year. Not only does Roy Williams deserve the ACC coach of the year, He should also receive the National coach of the year. Carolina beating Duke saturday night should sew it up for ol Roy.

Re: Roy Williams-Coach of the Year

Bwriter,

Do you think they can do it at Duke on senior night? I would love to see it happen, but it is going to be a pretty intense atmosphere. What do you think they need to do to pull it out?

In my opinion if they can get Williams in foul trouble they can eliminate Duke's only inside presence. Just a thought...
