So if you guys have not heard, UNC is starting to gain some recruits that we thought we would have lost. We did lose Greg Little, the standout WR/RB/TE/SS/LB (pretty much anywhere on the field he plays) who I believe is from Durham Hillside, to Notre Dame.

But we have regained Quan Sturdivant who had committed earlier last week to Florida but has decided that UNC is the school for him. Scout.com reported this today.

For those of you who don't know who Sturdivant is, he is a 6'3/218 QB/MLB who runs 4.57 40. That's pretty quick. He is being recruited as a middle linebacker, her has the speed and the size. And on top of that, Scout.com has him ranked as the #8 MLB in the nation. That is a nice addittion to the young linebackers such as Durell Mapp, Mark Paschal, & Chase Rice who all had great games against Georgia Tech.

So it looks as thought things may be on the up and up at UNC.

Do you think there have been any direct results of the Butch Davis contract?

I gotta believe that his hire will sway at least a couple good players to come & rebuild the program. Probably most likely with the instate guys who were going to some other program where they thougtht they could win. I bet Davis can do a good job of selling that type recruit on the program.

I think it is a result of the Davis hiring. As I posted, Sturdivant had already committed to Florida before the hiring of Davis. A lot have said it was because of the firing of Bunting (He seemed to really like Bunting). But once the announcement of Davis was made, he was back on board.

UNC is going to pile up the Blue Chips and 4 stars like Miami has in Butch Davis's regime there.

You're right. It may take a year or two but they will. Davis is a great recruiter so expect to see some players that have the talent that UNC had when Mack Brown was the coach.
