Post Tar Heels basketball preview

Here's a look at the 2006-07 North Carolina Tar Heels basketball program, courtesy of Fox Sports.

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The way you know things are different in Chapel Hill this season isn't by scanning any of the preseason publications or even looking at the ACC preseason poll that has Roy Williams and the North Carolina Tar Heels sitting firmly on top.

It's by watching Tyler Hansbrough in practice.

The sophomore big man, who had arguably the best freshman campaign of anyone in UNC history a year ago, no longer can go through the motions. Now he's got to work for his in practice with the likes of freshman Brandan Wright, Deon Thompson and Alex Stepheson.

"It's a big-time difference," North Carolina senior guard Wes Miller said. "Last year he completely dominated practice and now, with the three freshmen, it's a little different for him."
So what do you guys think of these "Diaper Dandies" as Dick Vitale likes to call them? Will Wright, Thompson and Stephenson team with Hansbrough to make this UNC basketball team a force in the NCAA this season?

Re: Tar Heels basketball preview

I believe a final four apprearance is certainly possible if the team can gel and peak at the right time. Perhaps even a little better????

Re: Tar Heels basketball preview

North Carolina has made it to the Elite Eight by beating USC in an amazing turnaround story. Down by 16 points to USC early in the second half, Freshman Brandon Wright led an amazing Tar Heels comeback to win the game and advance the Tar Heels further into the March Madness/National Championship game. They are one step closer to victory.

The Trojans may have scored the first seven points of the second half and may have seemed to be in control, but the Tar Heels turned the tables like true fans knew they would. Our Tar Heels basketball team mounted an 18-0 run on their way to victory and a spot in the Elite Eight.

Now it is time for UNC fans to rally together behind our beloved Tar Heels. They have earned one of four spots for the Pontiac Game Changing Performance. Go to Pontiac Game Changing Performance - NCAA Sports.com and vote for the Tar Heels play. The voting ends in 24 hours!!! Pass along to all of your friends, fellow students and alumni. Go TAR HEELS!!!!!
