Wake Forest @ North Carolina

North Carolina is 1-6 in their first 7 games, and things aren't about to get easier for the Tar Heels. This weekend, they host the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, who are 6-1 on the season and unbeaten in three road games. So what chance does UNC have in this one? What are your predictions?

Re: Wake Forest @ North Carolina

Well I think we will see a new team the rest of the year, al ot guys are hurt and mad about Jb being let go and I think they will come out and play together for a change. Teams playing for coaches on there way out are hard to beat.

You know the Heels are going to bust on someone now. I wouldn't want to play them!

Re: Wake Forest @ North Carolina

We have all watched Wake over the years point toward the Carolina game, and they need this one to stay in the rankings. They are for real and will give us more than we can handle. Remember how well they competed against Clemson. I hate it but it goes something like: Wake 28 to 7.

Re: Wake Forest @ North Carolina

Welcome MrTarHeel & Wally, glad you're here to chat

With Bunting fired and speculation on his replacement making headlines, it could go one way or the other. Does the football team rally around their coach & win one for him... or do they collapse under the controversy around the lame duck coach?

I'm gonna go out on a limb & say they play above themselves in this game.

My pick:
Tar Heels 24
Wake 13

I agree. I think they will ralley around Bunting and win this one this week. I say 24-14.

Re: Wake Forest @ North Carolina

It doesn't say much for us if we can only get fired up to win after the firing of a coach...

Re: Wake Forest @ North Carolina

What it says, if we win thihs weekend, is that we could have been winning the whole time!

Re: Wake Forest @ North Carolina

And in some ways, it would justify Bunting's firing by proving that motivation, not talent, was the only thing lacking.

I agree. That talent is there. There are some great players on that team.

Re: Wake Forest @ North Carolina

Almost. They almost did it, but in the end, Wake comes away with a 24-17 victory. Ronnie McGill runs for 117 yards and a score, but in the 4th, Riley Skinner hit Kenneth Moore on a 39-yard pass for what would be the game winning score. Strong performance by the Heels, but it still wasn't enough.
