New AD and Football Coach

Since the rumors are out there about getting rid of Bunting, can we add Dick Baddour to the list, especially after he gives a vote of confidence to the Coach after a 52-7 whipping from Clemson? Who has Baddour brought in, and don't say Roy Williams, because we all know that Dean Smith was the one that convinced Roy to come back to NC. Baddour gave us Carl Torbush, then wanted to fire him, then wanted to fire him again, and finally did. Then, he wanted to hire Frank Beamer from VA Tech...all he did was get played by Beamer and helped Beamer get millions from VA Tech. Then, he hires John Bunting. Now that 6 years has passed, Bunting has had his chance. It's time to move on...and again, let's get a new AD as well. With the money, facilities and atmosphere, there is no reason that Carolina can't have a top 25 football team every year, and about every 5th yr or so, a top 10 team. There has to be someone out there who can Coach and recruit players to get us to the next level...and this time, if they do, let's keep them!

I agree with some of your points, But a new AD is not going to slove the problem, We just need to bring in a good coach and yes the AD picks but a lot more goes into it then just the AD saying so. JB was not hired just beacause Dick said so.

I think we need Louisville Off, Coach Paul Petrino, He has showen he can win and his Off. ranks top 10 every year.

Re: New AD and Football Coach

According to an article in today's Greensboro News & Record he gave John Bunting a "vote of confidence" for this season. I understand it doesn't make sense to remove your Coach during the season, so why wouldn't Baddour just keep quite? I assume Baddour works for the Chancellor. What forum can we communicate with the Chancellor on to voice our opinion about Baddour, although I doubt it will do any good since he got a substantial raise over the summer?

Well we all know what the means, Just look at how he handle the M.D. thing for the basketball program. To me it says you had a good run but if you don't win out the you are gone.

We are a basketball school and in the state of NC this will never change so untill the state thinks a different way football win always be a time for people in NC to get ready for basketball.

Well, you can start a thread here with the title "Fire Dick Baddour" and I can just about assure you that (within a week or 2) it'll show up on Google for that. As long as you stay PG & everthing stays within our Forum Rules, you're welcome to do that. If you want that to show up on Google, make sure you use "Fire Dick Baddour" as the exact thread title.

btw, welcome to GoTeamsGo

I agree, there is no reason why we can't be a top 25 team every year. We were working that way with Mack Brown. There is no reason why we can't now. I have mixed feelings on Phil Baddour. Mainly because he is from my town and I do some work for his brother. So, I don't want to state my thoughts on that. But please fire Bunting!!!
