Post Next Football Head Coach at UNC

Now I am not saying J.B. will be let go but if he does, should we bring in a up and coming coach or a big time coach?

We have the money to go out and bring in a prime time coach. Also the ACC has not let a coach go in 5 years who do you think will go.

My Coaching changes: UNC, NC State, Maryland, UVA, Miami, and maybe Dook

What do you think?

I think UVA and UNC are likely unless something improves soon... I am not in touch with the other schools to know the scoop...

How about Michigan's defensive coordinator English? Betcha he gets more than a few job offers this offseason!

I've heard it said that Frank Cignetti was brought in to possibly be the next coach. You know his brother is a coach at State. I mean, would you have left your Offensive Coordinator job at Fresno State to go be a Offensive Coordinator at another college for just one year? Does anyone else think that is a possibility?

Re: Next Football Head Coach at UNC

I hope not, the Offensive sucks and this runnning game sucks to. Don't get me wrong I have been a JB fan, but I think we need a better Offensive and Cignetti is not it.

I think we need to get a coach with a proven record playing against big teams. There is no reason we should not win at least 6 to 7 games a year.

A buddy of mine heard on a sports radio show that there is speculation that Paul Johnson from Navy could be the next coach. He's a native of North Carolina and he got started in his coaching career and playing career here in the state.

I hope not! We need a good recruiter. I don't think he can get it done. Even Bunting, won eight games when he had decent talent.

Exclamation Re: Next Football Head Coach at UNC

After all the talk and how the team is playing I htink JB will be back for at least one more season.

The reason:
  • The Last 2 classes have been real good, some players have already said if JB is let go they will go some where else.
  • JB is getting players to class and receving degrees and not just a blank sheet of paper.
  • He will be NC State, WF & Duke
  • Basketball is starting to take some heat off of him, Title talk is about to start for Basketball.
  • We are a Basketball school that really doesn't care about football and as long as Basketball keeps bringing in the big money it will always be like this, I know some of you say we should win more games and we should, but at the end of the day as long as R-Will is going strong JB will be okay and football season will be just a warm up to basketball season.

Re: Next Football Head Coach at UNC

I would rather see a clean program with high graduation rather than a team like VA Tech with arrests and failures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
