Miami stuck with # 1 pick

Funny most teams in the past would have overbid thier hand to get the # 1 pick. This year is different Miami is more than likely going to take Howie Long's kid rather than a difference maker. Bill Parcells is looking for a longevity player than immediate help because he has so many holes to fill.
If they were smart they would take McFadden a real game changer... he is much better than Reggie Bush ever thought about being plus he was under fire in the SEC that speaks for itself. Miami needs to wake up and smell the roses...

Re: Miami stuck with # 1 pick

Actually, Stoney, now it's looking like it's going to be Michigan tackle Jake Long. He's the guy they're negotiating with. But you're right, in the past, there always seemed to be that one guy people would knock themselves over to try and trade up to get. Not this year, though. There's no true home-run pick in 2008's class.

Jake Long is the perfect fit for Miami, he'll help a god awful O-Line. McFadden will either be a Raider at pick 4 or a Jet at pick 6.

Re: Miami stuck with # 1 pick

Some draft experts have McFadden going as late at 11th to the Bengals, if you can believe that!

Re: Miami stuck with # 1 pick

If Marty Hurney was any kind of GM he would find a way to make McFadden a Carolina Panther. Sadly he won't and he will subsequently get fired and we will bring in a new head coach and GM.

Last week I heard the Raiders are looking DE with the 4th pick, although who knows what they are thinking. I think McFadden goes 6th and if the Jets pass I predict a riot.

The Jets just signed Thomas Jones to a big contract so with McFadden you're gonna have 2 big time paychecks at the same position. I agree with taking McFadden for the Jets but a lot of Jets fans are questioning a possible overstock at the position.

First off, what are the Jets thinking giving Thomas Jones big deal, he did basically nothing last year, they need backfield help and McFadden is the best when it comes to the backfield in this draft.

Re: Miami stuck with # 1 pick

Maybe Carolina moves up and takes McFadden. They could work out something with New England.

McFadden won't fall past the Jets at 6, IMO, I could see them trading up to the 7 spot, but for Matt Ryan, not Darren McFadden.

Ryan is bound for Atlanta... Carolina doesn't need him anyway. There are cheaper QBs out there.

Yeah, but I'm hearing the same stuff bears is hearing. They seem to be targeting Ryan, and could possibly move up to get him.

If Glenn Dorsey falls to Atlanta (meaning the Rams draft Chris Long), that's who they're taking. That leaves McFadden to the Raiders, and several teams, including the Panthers, looking to move up into the Chiefs spot.

Re: Miami stuck with # 1 pick

The Jets are taking McFadden from what I hear on sports radio and stuff. Nothing official but from the sportscasters who talk to Jets team officials it seems like they want him. I tell you though, he would be so perfect for the Panthers!! If they could work out a deal....

Worked out pretty well for the Vikings with Taylor and Peterson last year. I don't think Thomas Jones should prevent you from doing anything and I think he may actually benefit from sharing the load.
