Glenn Dorsey

I've long said that I believe LSU DT Glenn Dorsey is the best player in the draft.

Well, a recent report over at Yahoo! doesn't quite go that far, but it does say that "Dorsey on Wednesday afternoon solidified his spot as one of the top-five picks in April’s NFL draft – not that there had been much doubt... One coach even described Dorsey’s workout as the best he had seen by a defensive tackle in at least five or six years. In fact, several compared Dorsey favorably with former Pro Bowl regular Warren Sapp, calling Dorsey a 'rare' combination of size, speed and strength."

So where does this guy wind up playing this fall?

Glenn Dorsey, wow, I've seen some mock drafts were he is picked second to the Rams and I've seen some were he is picked 9th. I think he will go 4th to the Raiders.

Dorsey won't go as late as 9th... I think he's a top 4 all the way.

He definitely won't make it out of the top five. Way too much talent to fall that far.

Re: Glenn Dorsey

Being a long suffering fan of the Jets ... I was kindly treated to the Jets moving up a few years ago when the "experts" were touting Dwayne Robertson as the second coming of Warren Sapp. Lets say it hasn't quite worked out that way.

Not saying Dorsey isn't the real deal ... but there are absolutely NO guarentees in the draft.

I totally disagree the SEC has consistently provided the NFL with quailty players. Dorsey will not be an exception I think both he and McFadden are the real deal.

And just as many busts. A whole slew of Gators quarterbacks, Cadallac Williams and Ronnie Brown, among others.
Like the previous poster said, there are no guarantees. I like Dorsey's chances; not so much when it comes to Darren McFadden, though.

Re: Glenn Dorsey

sounds like he could go #2..

Pete Prisco of CBS Sports reports that the Saints are willing to deal Brown, who started 15 game in 2007 and made the Pro Bowl in 2006, if it means they can get Dorsey, a local hero whom the Saints believe would immediately upgrade their defense. The Saints would likely also trade their own first-round pick, No. 10 overall.

Re: Glenn Dorsey

Interesting. I heard the Rams were talking with him, but the Saints? That'd be a great pick up for them. Of course, they still need secondary help too.

Brown and Williams got hurt...not exactly busts when they were healthy though...but yeah...no guarantees.

Well, people want to call Ki-Jana Carter a bust, and he was an injury. I'm with you, I don't like using the 'bust' label when a guy gets hurt, but at the same time, I feel compelled to play by the rules of the game.
