| winners, losers at scouting combine The final chapter of the 2008 NFL combine was written Tuesday afternoon when the last group of defensive backs walked off the turf at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis. Lots of surprise players turning heads out there, from the looks of it. Jeremy Zuttah of Rutgers sounds like a keeper. Michigan State WR Devin Thomas could sneak into the first round after impressing in pass catching and speed drills. And of course we've all already heard about Mendenhall and McFadden impressing. I also heard that DeSean Jackson of Cal had a strong workout at the combine and could be a first-rounder. Disappointed at Mike Hart's performance; with so many highly touted RBs in the draft, I have to wonder if he'll even be a first-day pick now after running a 4.7. Still, based on his career at Michigan, I think he can be a starting tailback in the NFL.
