the biggest risk to me would be matt ryan he's rather going to be elite or a bum, you think about the early picked players who don't do well in the nfl he could be one of them he made a lot of risky moves in college and got away with them, you don't get away with them in the nfl, he throws to many picks and i dunno if a team like the dolphins or the falcons should take a risk

but i do consider QB to be the most risky pick of all in the first round .... so much rides on the position .... also they can rarely play any other position ..... Ted Ginn Jr returns kicks .. Mike Vrabel catches TD passes .... other players can play elsewhere if needed .... QB seems much more hit or miss

Re: NFL Draft 2008: Riskiest Pick? You're right. Especially when a guy like Ryan will be pegged to turn a franchise around...depending on the situation. As we've seen with teams like Cincy, Atlanta and San Diego, a bad move in the QB spot and you set your franchise back a few years.

Re: NFL Draft 2008: Riskiest Pick? I'm torn between Ryan and McFadden. Either one (or both) could wind up being a bust. But I've been down on McFadden for a while now; the NFL scouts are just catching up to what I saw all year long this past season.
