NFL DRAFT 2008: Miami Dolphins

Coming off a 1-15 season, who should the Miami Dolphins go after in the 2008 NFL Draft? Is John Beck the answer at QB? Should the Dolphins take a QB this year? Will Ronnie Brown bounce back from injury? Do they need a new RB? Will Bill Parcells be a factor?

Okay, assuming there's no trade down... I think it should be Glenn Dorsey (he's the best player on the board), but it won't be. They'll want a skill position guy. Maybe a quarterback, maybe a running back, I don't know. Could be Darren McFadden here, could be a guy like Matt Ryan or Brian Brohm. I just heard Trent Green is trying to come back, so... who knows?

Well, I can see Dorsey...but McFadden is tempting...I don't see Green back though...I think he is done.

Looking at all the problems that they have, a trade down makes the most sense. They need to rebuild and acquire as many pieces as they can. Whether they take Dorsey or McFadden does not matter, they can still get someone at #12 who would help them now and an extra pick or two in later rds. I think most people expect Parcells to trade down.

Yep, I bet they trade down to number 6, the Jets get McFadden the Dolphins get a solid lineman and a few more later round pick.

Exactly. Parcells is looking to rebuild, that's his style, not the quick fix.

Who will be trading with him though? What team has a need to fill and picks to give away?

I love McFadden but would never take him with the first pick. RB is always one play away from career ending injury. This daft is so deep at RB you could get a good one in the 3rd round. I'd go DL with the # 1 pick and OL if they can trade down.
