Re: Top Ten Player for the 2008 NFL Draft?

Before the combine and scouting games, I think these are the Top 10 as far as potential picks, in no specific order..

Matt Ryan, QB, Boston COllege
Brian Brohm, QB, Louisville or Andre Woodson, QB, Kentucky
Darren McFadden, RB, Arkansas (if he comes out)
Jake Long, OT, Michigan
Chris Long, DE, Virginia
Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU
Sedrick Ellis, DT, USC
James Laurinaitis, LB, Ohio State (if he comes out)
Malcolm Jenkins, CB, Ohio State (if he comes out)
Kenny Phillips, S, Miami (if he comes out)

Good list...no Colt Brennan and only one RB huh?

Scouts say Brennan fell out of the first day with his game vs. Georgia, so he definitely won't be a Top 10 pick.

I still think he will be a good NFL QB. He has everything one needs. The Georgia game was a complete team loss...not only him.

True, but he didn't do himself any favor by playing that poorly against a quality defense. That doesn't bode well for his NFL career.

The Combine can change that...he had no line against Georgia and was trying to make plays...I like him as a first day pick.

He has the height and arm. He has proven that he has accuracy and timing with receivers. He has proven that he doesn't fold under pressure and can lead a comeback and win. He went up against a superior team. Hawaii was dominated defensively. He never had a chance to really get into a rhythm and make plays. I don't see how that can hurt his NFL chances. I think some of what he has already proven is what teams are looking for.

I've seen Doucet rated in the low first round to even second.

Re: Top Ten Player for the 2008 NFL Draft?

well matt ryan is BY FAR the best qb in the draft. basically if tom brady or peyton manning had john elway or brett favre's arm, you would get matt ryan. everyone is goin crazy over brohm and woodson but i think that eric ainge is teh second best qb in teh draft

mcfadden is good and everything but i think mendenhall is the best back in teh draft, then mcfadden, then stewart. simply cuz mendenhall showed up in EVERY game this year, even his teams dismemberment in teh rose bowl.

i know everyone is sayin mario manningham this and limas sweed that but to me the 2 best wr's are doucet and desean jackson. apparently jackson recorded as low as a 4.29 once. let that sink in. 4.29. 4.29. 4.29. 4.29. he dont got a physical frame but his LIGHTNING fast. like ridiculously fast. so he cant really go over the middle for 60 minutes but DOUCET can. and doucet always makes a clutch play just when it looks like all hope is lost. but jackson has jerry rice like hands ( yes i know, that is very high praise)

I though Brohm has a better arm than Ryan? The kid was drafted as a pitcher by MLB to boot...

Re: Top Ten Player for the 2008 NFL Draft?

The only thing i want my team to be drafting are the OL and DL positions, drafting anything else is stupid...especially wideouts!!!!!

Welcome to GoTeamsGo and thanks for joining us!

The team that wins the battle in the trenches usually does win up winning the game, so I can see that strategy.
