Another story from Yahoo! Sports, in which they picked the all-time draft busts. Like the other one, they're in order of when the guys were actually picked in the draft. Ki-Jana Carter won the "honor" of being the worst #1 Draft Pick of all time, beating out the likes of Tim Couch, Courtney Brown and Steve Emtman in the process. Ryan Leaf was #2, Akili Smith at #3, Art Schlichter 4th and Mike Junkin 5th.

Art Schlichter...long time since I heard that name...I remember him.

But Emtman?...get real...fabulous pick...just hurt himself playing...but a good player when he was able to play...no way he should be on the list.

Carter too had a ton of injuries...didn't play all that great...but injuries took a toll on the man.

Leaf deserves it, injuries or not...Akili is the poster boy for not drafting a QB who hasn't taken a few years worth of snaps...

yeah thats a good question becuase what is defined as a bad first round pick? does he have to have played bad in his first season or throughout his career?

Yatil Green has nothing on Huey Richardson, probably the worst draft pick in Steelers history. And I don't recall where he went, but part of me is stunned Jarrod Bunch of the New York Giants on this list.

BTW, Bunch who was taken 27th overall...is now an actor...He played George Foreman in one movie...

That draft was something else... they take Bunch in round 1, Colorado LB Kanavis McGhee in the 2nd and they gamble on a Stanford WR by the name of Ed McCaffery in the third round. Just goes to show you that you never know for sure who will succeed and who will be the bust.

Aw, cmon! A. Smith is progressing well considering the team is rebuilding. What about Tony Mandarich? He was supposed to anchor that Packer line for years to come and he couldn't beat out journeymen backups in training camp. I don't think Mandarich gets much consideration because when you think busts you usually go for a higher profile position than the O-Line.

If I recall right, Mandarich was a #2 pick. As bad as he was, there's no way he beats out Ryan Leaf.

Ryan Leaf was the most costly in terms of his being a flop that's true. I thought you guys mean #1 picks in the first round not overall. Overall, yeah you'd have to go with Ryan Leaf. Weird how the guy just didn't make it but quarterback is a tough position to learn.
