I was really hoping we could get something done with mike turner but I guess not, this has been one of our worst FA in a long time..I guess were just gonna collect the money and not spend..they were saying on espn that us and the redskins had the 2 worst offseasons..

yeah i think we would have picked up Turner if the Chargers werent so ridiculous with their demands, i mean a first and third round pick for a linebacker? i mean it was us and maybe one other team interested in him so its not like he was a 'hot property' so why make some stupid demands, its their loss to be honest because i think if their demands were more reasonable they might have got something good out of it, but i think we have got a pretty dodgy offense, with the expection of our make shift O line, some excellent TE's, Vince, we have some questionable WR's and not really any good RB's so yeah i would say we are one of the worst but i dont think we will show that when it comes to game day especially with Vince running things

Turner's a running back, not a linebacker. Talented, but not worth a 1 and a 3.

been reading up on him and he seems like more of a run blocking OT than a pass blocking one which i suppose is the best fit for a "Vince Young style offense" and no injuries thus far in his career which is a good sign, plus its better than having some random free agent O lineman that we throw into the lineup when everyone else gets injured

I think overall we had a good draft, i really like the wr's we drafted especially paul williams he looks like he has a lot of talent, and even though I wanted meachem our 1st pick but michael griffin will help our def and special teams a lot plus hes from texas and was a teamate of vinces..

yeah couldnt agree with you more vincesanity, at first it was a bit of a shock when we were making our picks but after reading up on the players they seem like they can bring a lot to the team and its good that none of them were 'high profile players' becuase i think had we taken someone like Meachem we would have been dissapointed had he not played excellent from game one, but Williams seems like he has a lot of potential and im a little confused as to why he wasnt taken a little higher not that im complaing or anything ha ha but all in all a good draft, not EXCELLENT but we have a few players who could turn out to be sleeprs

Here's what Yahoo! Sports' John Murphy had to say about the kid Patrick, the tight end taken by Arizona in Round #7:
"His tremendous senior campaign ended with him being invited to the East-West Shrine game before being added as a last-minute injury replacement at the Senior Bowl. Patrick led all Division I-AA tight ends with 64 catches, the third time he led his team in catches during his career... He's dangerous after the catch as he will use a strong lower body and deceptive speed to hammer out additional yardage. He also stays low and plays with balance and power as a blocker. In fact, he does his best blocking on the move as he will get in front of his man and look for a linebacker to block after the snap if uncovered. Patrick could be more aggressive, but he has the body type to improve as a blocker with more coaching and continued development. He will be more of a short-to-intermediate pass-catching threat in the NFL as he lacks that explosive extra burst to get into downfield routes fast enough to be a difference maker. This smart, hard-working prospect offers the next-best combination of pass catcher and blocker in this group for teams who pass on taking a tight end in the first round."

Still have no idea how he fell all the way to the final round, but great pickup for the Cards.

to be honest i think it might even be due to the fact he wasnt an explosive TE, he sounds like a really good one and should have gone maybe in the third round but how much do you think that him coming out of Delaware effected his draft value? i mean thats something people forget about and thats one of the reason why Jay Cutler wasnt taken higher last season

Nice move by Green Bay snaggins Florida RB DeShawn Wynn with pick #228. According to Yahoo! Sports, Winn is a "big, athletic back with definite upside. His best football may be ahead of him... Has the running skills to surprise, though he lacks the breakaway speed to be a big-play threat. Probable surprise top-100 selection based on a strong performance at the Combine." Great value this late in the draft!
