does anyone really want Vince Young?

It really did not help Mr. Young that Culpepper, Brees, and Kitna were all free agents this year.

It seems a player of his status in College football would warrant more interest than he is currently getting. The Titans seem to want Lynert or Cutler. Lynert with the Norm Chow connection and Cutler with the Tennenssee connection.

The Saints seem very unlikely to draft a QB after giving Drew brees approximatley 10 million a year. The Jets may show an interest in trading with the Saints to move up and get a QB. However, it seems likely that if they do that they will take Lynert and not Young. If they don't move up, it seems the Jets will most likey solve their QB issues in free agency, most recently talking to the Redskins' Patrick Ramsey.

The question is how far will Vince Young drop. The middle or end of the 1st round. Could he possibly drop to the second round. If he does I would guess combine participants in the future will take the Wonderlic test a little more seriously.

If Young drops that far, it'll be a great bargain for whoever takes him. I don't see him not suceeding in the NFL, given he has a decent offensive line to work with.

Re: does anyone really want Vince Young?

I am not impressed with Vince Young's arm. The games I saw him play this year, it seemed as though his WRs had to stop and wait for the ball rather than catch it on the run. Not saying he doesn't have arm strength, more it is a question of whether or not he can lead his recievers. If not, he will be a huge NFL bust.

Re: does anyone really want Vince Young?

I'm confused by the Jets who seemingly can be on the fast track to get either Leinart or Young. The papers in recent days have them wanting to trade for a guy like Matt Schaub but Atlanta won't part with the kid. So what will they do? McCown is off the market and I believe Kitna is as well. Seems like they'll be forced to go ahead and draft one of the kids.

If I was a franchise who needed a QB, I'd take either of them with a smile on my face. Leinart's record speaks for itself. Young single handedly won the Rose Bowl against one of the best NCAA teams ever, period.

I think they are still talking to Patrick Ramsey.

Re: does anyone really want Vince Young?

Well, with Bush likely going #1 and the Saints looking D after signing Brees, the Jets should be in good shape to take one of the top three QBs. Do they just not want to or something? Are they not high on these guys?

Re: does anyone really want Vince Young?

As more time passes in the free agency period, it seems that no one is really high on any of these QB's. Except the Titans, who really seem to want Lynert.
Most feel that Cutler will be the second QB chosen.

But if you look at Detroit, Kitna, McCown, and Harrington, you can see they have no desire to wait around for one of the college QB's. By the way, where is Jeff Garcia?

Re: does anyone really want Vince Young?

He definitely has his questionmarks. I would definitely gamble on him if he drops far enough though.
