NFL Draft - 4th Best QB

No matter what exact order they're placed in, everyone seems to be 100% sold on the fact that Leinart, Young and Cutler are the top 3 QBs in the draft. So who should be the fourth one taken? Who is the best of the second-tier of signalcallers headed to the NFL this April?

My selection would be Brodie Croyle of Alabama. He's had knee problems, but I think he's a great field general. Other possibilities could be Charlie Whitehurst, Marcus Vick, Omar Jacobs, and UAB's Darrell Hackney. Which would you pick?

I'd go with Charles Whitehurst hands down. The 6-4 225lb Whitehurst put up some imprssive stats at Clemson.

I say Croyle as well, despite the history of injuries. Plus he was in more of a conventional pro style type of offense in Alabama under Schula. The kid has a good arm, makes good decisions and is certainly battle tested facing some tough defenses in the SEC.

Jacobs and Whitehurst both ran spread offenses in College in where they were almost exclusively in shotgun formation. Whitehurst had a underachieving career in Clemson and you can make the case that Jacobs, despite his great athletic ability, face inferior competition in the MAC. Both will need some time to get use to being under center again.

Hackney reminds me a little of Leftwich, though built more like David Garrard. Big kid with a huge arm who isn't going to beat you with his legs. Of course he's not nearly as accurate. He's tough to sack and will throw the ball with a defender hanging on him.
