| Re: Empire's Early NFL Mock Draft Quote:
#1 Pick - Oakland Raiders - Brady Quinn, QB, Notre Dame #2 Pick - Detroit Lions - Adrian Peterson, RB, Oklahoma Sooners And that still leaves either Johnson or Thomas for Cleveland at #3. Er... they ARE still at #3, right? |

| Re: Empire's Early NFL Mock Draft kevin jones is a good rb when healthy, i know he has his injuries problems but so does petterson. The lions need defensive help they did that last year in the draft and should do it again maybe leon hall from michigan |

| Re: Empire's Early NFL Mock Draft Troy Smith could go anywhere from the mid 1st round to early in the 2nd round. I've seen him being compared to Drew Brees who went early in the 2nd. Does Detroit want to use another pick on a skilled offensive player? Can't they sign a vet in free agency and try and fine tune the defense? I believe Tampa and Cleveland will flip a coin to decide who gets the 3 and 4 picks. |

| Re: Empire's Early NFL Mock Draft I love what the color commentator said during today's WVU - Georgia Tech Gator Bowl. Regarding WR Calvin Johnson's Draft status: "Well, he definitely won't make it past the second pick. The Lions take a wide receiver every year, don't they?" |

| Re: Empire's Early NFL Mock Draft The Lions have the potential, but need to make some key moves to reach it. From what I have heard, Brady Quinn is an outstanding QB that can make stuff happen. Any organization should welcome him with open arms, as should they when Troy Smith approaches. Of course, I am not a large college-football fan, so please do not stir up any revolts. |

| Re: Empire's Early NFL Mock Draft Quote:
that Green Bay game was a sick joke......both Grossman and Grise looked horrible the best thing they can do in round 1 is draft Troy Smith....i have heard he will go in the 2nd round, but the Bears need to snatch him up in the 1st with Smith they can be Super Bowl contenders for the next decade.......plenty of TE's will be available in later rounds........ and seriously, how much difference can there be between the top 5 TE's in the draft ?

| Re: Empire's Early NFL Mock Draft I never know what to expect from Grossman. At times, he looks like he will have a bright future, then at other times he throughs 3 int's in the first half (ie., the Green Bay game). They have a great defense and some pretty good players on offense, but it's time to get a QB, and possibly a wide receiver to take over when Muhammed leaves.

| Re: Empire's Early NFL Mock Draft The LIONS need lots of help! I'd like to see them go lower in the draft by winning....LOL for real I'd like them to get a O linemen and another pick! I think they need to stay away form skilled position and go Dfense or O line. Leon Hall is slightly overrated IMO. He let up alot of big plays and doesn't get a good jump on the ball.

| Re: Empire's Early NFL Mock Draft I'll do a full 1st round mock (version 2) next week after the Monday deadline for underclassmen to declare. For now, here's an updated look at how I see the Top 10 picks going. 1. Raiders: QB Jamarcus Russell, LSU 2. Lions: OT Joe Thomas, Wisconsin 3. Browns: QB Brady Quinn, Notre Dame 4. Buccaneers: WR Calvin Johnson, Georgia Tech 5. Cardinals: DE Gaines Adams, Clemson 6. Redskins: DT Alan Branch, Michigan 7. Vikings: WR Dwayne Jarrett, Southern California 8. Texans: RB Adrian Peterson, Oklahoma 9. Dolphins: QB Brian Brohm, Louisville (SHOCKER PICK) 10. Falcons: S Reggie Nelson, Florida |
