| Re: Thoughts & Prayers for Lefty's Nephew Thanks again everyone for all of your thoughts, prayers and get well wishes! On the whole, Logan's doing reasonably well. Some days he feels better than others, and late in the week we first started noticing some of the chemo-related side effects. Logan and his mom went up for his weekly chemo treatment and a spinal tap yesterday. The chemo treatment went well, but unfortunately, they were unable to get any fluid through the spinal tap, so they need him back up on Monday to try again. The worst part is that he woke up during the procedure, which sounds absolutely horrific. Thankfully, he seemed to be in good spirits when I saw him last night, though his back is understandably sore due to the attempted procedure. Like I told Pundit yesterday, Logan has a 29-day benchmark coming up in early September, which from what I understand will go a long way in determining where his treatment goes from there. Right now, we just have to take it one day at a time while hoping and praying for the best. |

| Re: Thoughts & Prayers for Lefty's Nephew Thanks, Christl, and to everyone who's been posting in this thread. Logan and his dad wanted me to let you know that they've been reading through the messages, and they appreciate all of the thoughts, prayers and virtual cards you've shared. I, too, want you all to know that they mean the world to all of us. Logan has a fairly intense chemo treatment Friday, which I guess was scheduled since this week will be his four-week benchmark. He also needed some blood because his hemoglobin was low - he got 1 bag Friday and he gets 1 more tomorrow. I was watching him on Saturday, and his temperature and appetite were fine, but he seemed a little sluggish. I talked to his dad on the phone today, and he said that things were going well. Later in the week, Friday I believe, we find out where we go from here. So far, the doctors have been pleased with his progress, and he seems to be responding well (he even still has his hair after four weeks of chemo!). But nothing becomes official until after this benchmark, so we're hoping and praying for some positive news come this weekend. |
