My day job is web marketing with specialty in Search Engine Optimization. That's essentially getting websites to rank well on Google & other SE's in order to get people to visit my websites.

From the beginning, I've done a lot of work in the background to make sure that GoTeamsGo is well positioned in the SE's. It's an inexact science but it's looking like we're finally seeing some benefits.

Since we launched in February, we've usually had about 20-70 visitors/day find our website via the SE's. About a week ago, Google started sending way more than they used to send. They jumped from sending about 20 visitors/day to 250, to 300, to 450... yesterday they sent 750 visitors & looks like they'll send more today.

The increase in visitors has led to an increase in new user signups. 7 today, 8 yesterday, 8 the day before... where we had been getting only about 5-10 per week.

Anyway, I've done alot of work to make sure the Search Engines notice us but it's your posts & threads that are doing the work. It's also you and our other members who do a great job of making new members feel welcome with friendly words and interesting posts.

I'm not 100% sure that the increased traffic will continue but I'm real happy with what we're building together and it's a good feeling to see our community growing.

Another milestone that I wanted to mention, we had the most users online (at the same time) today that we've ever had. We had 47 people online at once. That includes registered members and visitors.

WOW! I just saw the stat bar and it showed that at 1034 pst that 73 people were on the site! That's just amazing! hopefully, with football season just around the corner, we will have more members sign up and acheive the goal on having a forum for every pro team and every college team in the country!

Yes, we've been growing nicely. Been getting 500-1000 new visitors every day who find us via the search engines. New members are signing up every day and the growth makes us stronger as a community. It's more fun when you've got more people chatting

Another milestone today. We hit a new all time high for number of users online at the same time.

Did I see that the number has jumped up to 81 as of 9/1? Who knows, the number may jump to 100 by next weekend? It's definately a goal to probably achieve, even to think about.
