We're having a pick-the-score & pick-the-winner contest. Chat with sports fans and place your picks on football and baseball games. Also pick the Nextel Cup race winners.

How to Play
1) Goto our forum for any of the NFL teams, any listed NCAA football teams, any MLB team, or the NASCAR forum.
2) Find the thread for the next upcoming game or Nextel Cup race. If it's a game where both teams have a forum, the game prediction thread will be in the home team's forum.
3) Post your prediction. Tell us who will win plus the exact score. For NASCAR, pick the top 2 finishers in order.
4) If your prediction is correct, come back after the game and let us know about your correct pick in the Correct Picks Thread thread.

Tiebreaker
5) If we have more than 1 person get a correct pick, we'll pull 2 correct picker's names at random. Name with more posts for Oct 18-23 will get 1st prize, other name will get 2nd prize. So you're more likely to win 1st place if you chat alot with the other sports fans here at GoTeamsGo.

Contest Dates
The contest begins October 3 and ends at midnight on November 6, 2006. We'll count posts made from Nov 1-6 in deciding 1st prize and 2nd prize between the 2 winners.

What can I win?
1st place gets $250 from e-tickets.us.com. 2nd place gets a $50 discount card from TicketsNow.com.

How do I enter?
Post your pick for the next game for any MLB, NFL or any college football team that has a forum at GoTeamsGo. Or pick the top 2 finishers (in order) for the next Nextel Cup NASCAR race. You must alert us to any correct pick that you make by posting in the Official Contest Pick thread.

Can I only pick once?
You can make one pick for each game or race. But it must be the single, next upcoming game for that team.

Can I go ahead and make all the picks for the entire contest date range now?
No. You can only pick the single next upcoming game for any team. For example, you can not pick the Dodgers vs Mets games 1, 2 & 3 all at once. You can't pick game #2 until game #1 is finished.

Can I pick every NFL game or just 1?
You can put in 1 pick on each NFL game, 1 pick on each MLB game, 1 pick on each Nextel Cup race, and 1 pick on each appropriate college football game.

What's an appropriate college football game? Which games can I pick?
At least 1 of the teams in the game must have a team forum here at GoTeamsGo.

Can I pick a game that only 1 team has a forum here at GoTeamsGo?
Yes.

Both teams for the game I want to pick have team forums here. Where do I put my pick?
Put it in the home team's forum. And no, you can't put an extra pick in the away team's forum.

I want to pick a game between 2 teams that don't have forums here at GoTeamsGo.
That's great but it won't count as a contest pick if at least 1 team doesn't already has a forum here.

Can I pick NHL & NBA games?
We're not including NHL & NBA games in the contest. We want you to chat about any sports team & topic that interests you but that's outside the pick contest. We'll probably have another contest sometime that includes those sports.

Why are you having this contest?
We're trying to get more people to visit, join and talk sports with us here at GoTeamsGo.

Why is 1st place related to the number of posts I make?
Because we're a sports forum. We're here to grow as a community of people that talk about sports.

Can I just post a bunch of short little posts to increase my post count?
If we think that someone is trying to cheat, we'll disqualify that person. Don't play the game unless you agree to the rules which includes this rule: "I reserve the right to alter the rules if I think that I need to."

Can I edit my post with my prediction?
No. To avoid the chance of someone editing their prediction after the outcome is known, we will not accept any picks that are in edited posts. If you must edit a post that had you prediction, remove your pick from that post ad make a new prediction post at least 1 hour before the start of the event.

Why was my post edited or deleted?
Probably because the post or one of your other posts broke our forum rules. If you break our rules, you'll be disqualified from the contest.

Full Contest Rules

Contest Rules
You can guess all NFL games, NCAA football games (but only if 1 or both teams have a team forum here) and MLB postseason games.
You can also pick the top 2 finishers (in order) for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup races.
You can enter as many game/race picks as you want, once per event.
Your guess must be made after close of the team's previous event and at least 1 hour before the start of the game/event you pick. You can't pick beyond the team's next game.
Your pick must be placed in the correct forum for the team/sport.
If you make a correct pick, you must alert us by posting to the Correct Picks Thread thread. It doesn't count until you've posted it in the official thread. You must submit your correct pick to that thread by midnight November 6,2006.

To avoid any chance of changing/making picks after the deadline, if a post with the pick has been edited by the member, it's not valid.
The $250 prize is good for one order not to exceed $250 (including all fees and taxes) from e-tickets.us.com and valid through 12/31/2006. Unused funds will be lost.
The $50 prize will be a $50 discount card for TicketsNow.com valid through 12/31/2006.
You must be 18 years old to participate.
You must be a US citizen residing in the US to participate.
All times are Central time zone and coordinated with our server's clock.
GoTeamsGo staff can participate but are not eligible to win the prizes.
Members that break the contest rules or the forum rules will be disqualified.
Don't try to cheat by signing up for multiple user accounts. Only 1 pick per IP address is allowed.
I reserve the right to alter the rules if I think that I need to.
My decision on all matters related to this contest will be final.
