Exclamation Angels have Yanks number

Over the past few years, it has been clear that the Angels have the upper hand in games vs. the Yankees. The only team to beat the Yankees in the ALDS the past 9 years has been the Angels, both in 2002 and 2005. Are the Yankees in for another opening round defeat this year at the hands of the Angels assuming the Yankees take the AL East?

Re: Angels have Yanks number

I think you meant assuming the Angels win the AL West (as of now, they're 5.5 games behind Oakland, who the Yanks always beat). But if that works out, the Yanks or Angels (whichever team has the worst record) would meet the AL Central winner. The Yanks or Angels (team with better record) would meet the AL Wild Card winner.

Confusing? lol I always use too many words when describing things.

Anyway, I'd rather face the Tigers than possibly the Twins (because of the pitching) so it may come back to haunt the East or West division champs.

Wow, I guess I assumed the Angels being ahead of Oakland, but never really understood that whole seeding process in baseball.

The Angels are not making the playoffs - thankfully for the Yankees. They're 5 games behind the A's and the A's pitching is just too good to lose the lead. Likewise, they're too far behind in the wild card race - 8 games out and chasing too many teams.

Hey, the Yanks put up 11 runs today, so don't worry.

But anyway, the Angels will not make the playoffs.

Hey, don't cross the Halos off the list yet because there is still a month left of quality baseball!

The Angels haven't been as strong as they were last year so the outcomes can be different. Players come and player go and no two teams are the same.
