| A-Rod deserves every boo, and more If I could clone myself, I would send my other self to follow this guy around just to boo him. I have NEVER seen a more over-rated player. He hasn't been ahead in the count since May, he can't even move the runners over, never mind drive them in, and they cannot even put him at third now when Mussina pitches because he has made costly errors the last three times he pitched. Don't tell me about his 91 RBI either. He should have, conservatively, 130 by now with the runners he has had on base. How could the man who is supposed to be the "best player in the game" have 110 strikeouts before the end of August? There is no way to possibly defend him anymore.

| Re: A-Rod deserves every boo, and more Everything over the year has gotten into his head. He's still the best player in the game when you consider his skills and all that. I'm sure if he was playing in St. Louis, nobody would be booing or he wouldn't have so much pressure on him. Some guys shine in the limelight (Jeter) and some don't (A-Rod). |

| Re: A-Rod deserves every boo, and more The best player in the game earns the title, and then has to keep it. The argument cannot be made that A-Rod is the best player in the game when he continues to perform like this. At this point, I would rather have Damon, Jeter, Abreu, Giambi, and Cano up with the tying run on second than A-Rod. If he were the best player in the game, how could I make that statement? |

| He is suffering from KennyRogers-itis. He looks like a scared puppy right now. He's the only guy in the history of baseball who hits a homerun and gets bood. Every time he makes an out he gets bood. |

| Re: A-Rod deserves every boo, and more He's the guy that hired Scott Boras as his agent and demanded the out of this world contract. If you want to be paid that obscene amount of money, then you have to give the fans what they expect, or risk their wrath. |

| Re: A-Rod deserves every boo, and more Yes, I forgot about all the major league stars that get to play in a vacuum and not have to worry about the crowd's reaction when they screw up. What planet was that on again? I don't have an agent negotiating for me to be paid like I am Mark Twain when I am writing. I would doubt that Texas's first offer was for over 20 milion a year. These fans are waiting for him to do something big so they can cheer him, but he fails again and again despite having to have the most men on base in front of him of anybody in the game. |

Doesn't matter what you get paid, if you are getting booed for every single move you make I doubt your performance or confidence level would stay the same... They could pay you $5 or $20 million for a piece...if the next day you have 35,000 bad reviews....you would come to question your writing period...you might even develop writer block or come to the conclusion you suck...either way, you'd double think the next sentence you were about to type...why is A-Rod any different? But for the record if they paid A-Rod the league min the fans wouldn't boo huh?... |

| Re: A-Rod deserves every boo, and more Barry Bonds has done pretty good while being booed everywhere he goes outside of San Francisco. Alex Rodriguez is still a premiere player in baseball and I can think of 29 other teams that would love to have him. |

| Re: A-Rod deserves every boo, and more I think Barry Bonds has the type of personality which excels when he's in a hostile environment, ie. whenever he's playing on the road. It may sound weird but he just oozes the arrogance and "I don't care about anything else but myself" attitude. |

That he still goes out and does well is another thing. |

| Re: A-Rod deserves every boo, and more I can see why you would be upset, but I think he has found the answer. If you'll take a look at Major League Baseball : The Official Site 's homepage you'll see that he was wearing a #20 wrist band on his forearm, so maybe it's the luck of Posada. |

| Re: A-Rod deserves every boo, and more A-Rod is an interesting psychiatric case. He cares more than anyone else in sports what every single person thinks of him and as a result he tries way to hard to be perfect. He is always trying to say the perfect thing, make the perfect move and turn a triple play when the ball is hit to him. As a result his mechanics are off-set, he makes errors and the fans boo him. the more they boo him, the worse he plays and the downward spiral continues. |
