Steinbrenner's Replacement (eventually)

ok this isnt a breaking news thread

just speculation

George is, of course, getting older

and from all i have heard he is having some trouble remembering things

he recently told someone story after story about Kieth Olberman, with K O in attendence, and when it came time to introduce K O he couldnt remember his name

as i have heard it George refers to A-Rod as the third baseman, as he has trouble remembering his name

so it seems George will need a replacement at the helm maybe sooner rather then later

i wouldnt be surprised if he finds someone after this season

question is, who ?

does he have family to hand it over to ?

would he, or they, sell the team ?

after George is done running the Yankees do the purse strings become tighter ?

Re: Steinbrenner's Replacement (eventually)

His son-in-law has been a big wig with the Yankees for some time now and has been pegged as the guy to take over once George see's fit.

Here's a USA Today story from last year about this very topic.

Re: Steinbrenner's Replacement (eventually)

found this old thread and thought it may be worth bringing up again

the son-in-law seems to be out of the picture now so where do they go ?
