| Re: Steinbrenner Murder/Suicide Watch I realize that it was meant as a joke but I must say that I disapprove of this threads title. I know Simon is a good guy but murder and suicide are nothing to joke about in text of getting attention. You obviously got MVB's attention and you got mine by thinking that Steinbrenner might have committed suicide. I realize im a joker on here and say a lot of crazy things but suicide is nothing to joke about. I ask if you could please change the title of this thread of perhaps delete it. Its possible that some people have had bad experiences with suicide and dont need that kind of title as a joke. |

| Re: Steinbrenner NYYankees High Expectations Well whadda ya know. Trashed being the voice of reason So realistically, what does Steinbrenner do if this NYYankees team fails to make the playoffs? Staff changes, player changes, more trades, put the club up for sale... what's the likely outcome?

| Re: Steinbrenner NYYankees High Expectations Well put it like this...a lot of changes will be made. Now whether those changes will just be Abreu/Damon type moves or quite possibly a rebuilding or retooling with younger players (which I would like to see happen) we would have to see. |

| Re: Steinbrenner NYYankees High Expectations No playoffs for this team, a distinct possibility still with the way Ortiz is carrying Boston around, would have to mean the Yankees trying to unload A-Rod, who will be the brunt of most of the blame if they fail. As that would only involve big market clubs, let me go out on a shaky limb here and predict a three way Dodgers-Yanks- Orioles trade that would send A-Rod to LA, Tejada to NY, and many Dodgers' pitching prospects to Baltimore. Save this thread for future reference when this happens, but if it doesn't, give me credit for trying. Steinbrenner would then go after the biggest, safest big name free agent starter on the market, and a slugging first baseman, keeping Giambi at DH. Bye bye Sheffield for sure no matter what.
