So im sitting in my Econ class and what do i have to listen to but two kids argue why derek jeter is a scumbag, neither one arguing agaisnt. So i proceded to ask one of them who there favorite athlete is. The one kids respnse floored me, his favorites where Manny being Manny and TO, i proceded to laugh in his face saying dont argue about sports any more please. Is this really Jeters appearance to everyone or just jealousy, i say jealousy

Now Mervinout, if the whole world was into Pinstripes there would be no Red Sox-Yankee rivalry...no cross town rivals...etc...What's wrong with Manny and TO?...we are not measuring their intellect or thier ability to not mouth off at the media...inside the lines they are as good a candidate as Jeter for idol worship...

no no they werent talking about his ability, they say any immortal should change postion and keep his yap shut(arods arrival), im a huge new yorker fan, and i respect the **** out of people, like gibbs, an ortiz, a mcnabb, a bobby clarke but i cant listen to anyone say you cant respect jeter but you can respect manny, and TO.

Those guys were probably not even true MLB fans. People love to hate on the Yanks and Jeter, being the face of the team, receives most of the hate. Jeter is a HOFer, as is Manny. There's no reason to hate either guy unless you hate the uniform.

Jeter himself has said that nobody gets it worse when the Yankees come to Fenway than he does. In today's world, no matter what a guy like Terrell Owens does off the field, he is going to have his fans. The fact that Manny has his own set of rules obviously appeals to today's younger generation, who must wish they could have their own as well.
