According to Evan Grossman of the Post, Steinbrenner has demanded that Brian Cashman go out and get Bobby Abreu.

The Yankees should stand pat with the team they have. If they are going to upgrade, do it in the bullpen somehow. Farnsworth is still a joke, and Proctor is unreliable. Melky Cabrera has done too many good things for a 21 year old kid to trade him for somebody like Abreau

Isn't Abreu a free agent after this season. RENT-A-PLAYER!! If you're going to rent someone, why not go after Carlos Lee...
But you're right Legend, we're a 1/2 game out without Matsui and Sheff...imagine if we had 2 more pitchers as consistant as MOOSE and Wang!
