Fast forward 23 years later, where Shawn Chacon gives George the equivalent of a box full of snakes for his birthday, masterminding a 19-1 loss to the Indians. If this doesn't get Steinbrenner's wheels turning, nothing will. I would expect Smoltz here by the end of the week back in the day, but we will have to wait and see what gives with Cashman "in control".

I'm not sure, but the YES network broadcasters were being incredibly negative....so he might be out for a while. I hope not... How many more injuries can the Yankees take without completely collapsing?

Im trying to think of a regular who hasn't missed some time. Damon, Cano, Matsui, Sheffield, Jeter, Giambi, A-Rod, Posada have all been out of games for various ailments.
