Cool Old Timers Day

The Yankees had their 60th annual old timers day on Saturday. Now I'm really starting to feel old. David Cone, Daryl Strawberry and Jim Leyritz were there as Old Timers.....I'm surprised the Yankees are the only team in MLB that have this day. True the Yankees have the most players to choose from but what about the Red Sox, Cardinal, Dodgers. Mets, Giants, A's, Cincy?....Who wouldn't want to see Bert Campaneris, Joe Rudi, sal Bando, Rollie Fingers, Vida Blue, or Joe Morgan, Johnny Bench, Tony Perez etc.....Plus these games would all sell out or at least draw a lot of people. But that makes too much sense for the bonehead owners to come up with by themselves.

Re: Old Timers Day

I agree 100% - Old Timers Day is a great idea, and more people need to jump on the bandwagon and have one. I used to love watching the Dodgers back in the 80s, and it'd be great to see Fernando, Hershiser, Pedro Guererro, Steve Sax, Mickey Hatcher and some of my other favorite ex-Dodgers suit up one more time in an exhibition game.

Re: Old Timers Day

There have to be other teams that have an Old Timer's Day. It makes too much sense and is too much of a gate attraction for others not to be doing this.
