| Farnsworth an absolute bust About a month ago I posted a thread to the effect that Kyle farnsworth was garbage, but I was wrong, because you can throw out your garbage; the Yankees seem stuck with Farnsworth. Here are his numbers 2-4 record 4.68 ERA converted 1 save out of 5 chances 32 hits allowed in 32 2/3 inings 38 strikeouts 20 walks supposedly has a 100 mph fastball but likes to throw his slider, which he hangs every other time it leaves his hand. I cringe when I see this guy come in. If this is the best Brian Cashman can do to revamp the bullpen, then maybe it's time for him to go too.

Re: Farnsworth an absolute bust Typical Farnsworth outing today. Gives up a hit to a pinch hitter to open the eighth. Marlins sacrifice him to second, and then Farnsworth gives up a single hit so hard that the man on second cannot score. He strikes out Mike Jacobs, on a 3-2 pitch, (he goes to 3-2 on almost every hitter) then loads the bases when he walks Cabrera intentionally. Gets out of the inning on a long fly to left. Rivera than comes in and throws about 7 pitches to retire the Marlins in the ninth.

Re: Farnsworth an absolute bust I have to give Farnsworth credit for striking out Mike Jacobs, today. Jacobs has some raw talent that can turn into All-Star material, behind our backs. But as we know it, Farnsworth is not having a great season. Legend mentioned those horrible statistics earlier in this thread, which we would never have thought belonged to Kyle Farnsworth. He was suppose to make a major impact in the AL East division, and he isn't doing that thus far. Hopefully, he will be able to turn himself around before it is too late. By the way, legend, I probably would have walked Cabrera too. It just isn't worth taking a chance with runners in scoring position. Miguel Cabrera is known for knocking in runs, which wouldn't make the Yankees look too good out there. At least they could always rely on Mariano Rivera (except against the Red Sox).

Re: Farnsworth an absolute bust I see no way this guy pulls it together to be of any use to the Yankees. I honestly do not remember his last 1-2-3 inning, but I guarantee you it has not come within the last month.

Re: Farnsworth an absolute bust Has all of his pitching skills suddenly diminished after he signed a contract to wear pinstripes? This is quite unusual for a young pitcher to have such rather odd trends from season to season. But then again, most of the pitching-staff signed after 2005 hasn't been that impressive. The Yankees' best bet is looking into the trading blocks or bringing up some young guns from the farm system.
