I didn't even know that Andy Phillip's wife had this rare form of cancer until recently. I'm glad Phillips didn't get cut. I think he was very close.

What pressure on this kid to perform to keep his roster spot while this was going on and jackasses like me were saying he could not play. This is why Joe Torre is a great manager, because of his human side. God Bless Phillips and his wife, and dopes like me.

Legend: I didn't know either and was ripping Phillips' performance. It doesn't make us jackasses (blowhards,maybe). We didn't know what he was going through at the time.
