The Yankees captain is the popular all-star shortstop. He used to contend for batting titles and silver sluggers. He used to own the gold glove for shortstop all the time. He was also a regular all-star atendee. But now, is he worth it.

His glove has clearly lost a few notches and the gold is fading. The silver is peeling off the bat and Jeter is starting to get old. There has been plenty of speculation saying that he is over rated and over paid. I as a Yankee fan still like Jeter, but I am looking for other opinions. His average is hovering around the high .280's I believe, and his glove is, possibly average at the most, however that may be arguable.

He is the captain and supposedly shows plenty of leadership. However is this shortstop worth the paycheck he is given. He is paid I believe 20+ million a year. So you can think of it this way, forget he is the captain, forget he is on the Yankees, if any other player had those stats would they be getting paid the same?

Any oppinions appreciated. Like I said I still like Jeter as a Yankee fan. However I want to hear some other opinions.
