Andy Phillips is proving me wrong, hitting in some big spots and producing. he is much better with the glove than anyone thought, and it would be a shame now if after all this he is included in a deal to get an outfielder. He is showing good power and given the chance to play every day, he is finally making the most of it. Good for him, and Joe Torre for sticking with him. Let's hope that Farnsworth can now make me eat some crow as well.
And by the way, I could watch the highlight with Varitek running down to third and then back home before falling down on the Melky Cabrera play until my eyes cannot focus anymore.

im really enjoying watching phills and melky play. I think phillips could get traded if an OF comes along cause he is 29, he is not as young as melky

Phillips can be a star if the Yankees practice some patience for a change. I checked out his stats and throughout his career he has put up very impressive numbers.
Keep him at first base and make Giambi a full-time DH.
Phillips' better defense alone can win (or prevent loses depending on how you look at it) you a good dozen or so games.
