Re: Jeter hit again

young is who i ment, i couldnt remember which upton they had , the dbacks have the better one. The only thing i dont like about the rays, is that over the last year there had been talks about moving them to the NL west to avoid the sox and yanks, hope this never comes true

Thats what baseball is, not a sport but a buisness as to who can sign the best/highest price players. The Twins will never win another championship like in 1991. Nor will the Royals. What baseball needs is a salary cap ala the NFL this way the Steinbrenners who ruined the game can have some kind of restrains on them. Not that itll ever happen, they players union is stronger than the teamster union under Jimmy Hoffa! But I digress... Derek Jeter got hit AGAIN last night. Maybe these pitchers all bought Fords and are pissed off at their newest spokesperson. I once had a Dodge I was unhappy with. Who knows?

Re: Jeter hit again

George Bush Sr. And Jr. are reported to be seen by a lot of people as reptillian aliens. Im not kidding either. Actually it kinda makes sense when you think about it. Read UFO Magazine march 2004 issue and watch Penn and Teller's Bulls**t about Alien Abduction for further reference. Vince McMahon pinned god in the middle of a wrestling ring according to him...thats impressive I gotta admit. Is anyone mentioning that as much as hes my favorite baseball player he stands practically on top of homeplate when batting. Obviously that has a LOT to do with him getting hit intentional or by mistake.

Re: Jeter hit again

Jeter does dive across the plate, but not on this particular instance. His thumb is really bothering him now. Last night he got jammed on a ball he hit back to the pitcher, and you could see him shaking his hand right before he took off to first. This injury could be with him for quite a while and really hurt New York if it lingers.

Re: Jeter hit again

Cleveland buzzed Jeter a couple times tonight and then Posada got hit. Randy Johnson then tried to hit Eduardo Perez in the top of the seventh and was tossed from the game. Finally, someone standing up for a Yankee batter. Johnson gained some points with me, besides looking good tonight. With him now, you don't know if you are getting Jekyll or Hyde.

Re: Jeter hit again

Johnson REALLY gained some fan points tonight. Do you know how many times over the past years I've seen a Yankee batter get with a pitch with no retaliation???? It is so frustrating! But tonight, Johnson stepped up ( as he ought to) and almost plunked a guy. Nice to see him backing up Jorge too.

Re: Jeter hit again

Jim Kaat was doing the game on YES network and said that Posada overreacted to being hit, but he totally missed the point. Posada's reaction was a culmination of himself getting hit and Jeter being hit and brushed back the last few games. Posada just had words for Jason Johnson, it's not like he rushed the mound or anything. Randy Johnson will get a free pass from me next time he pitches poorly because of what he did last night.

Re: Jeter hit again

Plus, it doesn't matter whether the pitcher did it on purpose or not! The fact is, that he did hit Posada ( pretty badly, since now Jorge is out with a bruise arm and is listed as day-to-day). Jason Johnson was just getting careless...
