Re: Sheffield may be done look you guys can put an endless amount of names on this list. the yanks can go after, remember this is shef last year in his contract. So melky could be his replacment, theres four names i think the yanks will hear when they try to trade, and thats phillip hughes, melky, wang, and duncan. i got no prob with duncan being traded, got arod at 3rd for years to come, and giambi for a couple more years. But do you guys wanna trade wang, hughes, or melky?

| Re: Sheffield may be done Cano is the one everybody wants. I would like to see them stick it out with Cabrera in the outfield. He looks like he can hit and the power may come. They need bullpen help and a starter. Long, Bernie, Damon, Cabrera, and Crosby when he comes back is okay. Good riddance to Sheffield-take his money next year and sign a starter.

Re: Sheffield may be done Don't put your hopes down this early, Trashed. But it is always fun to wonder about what will happen in the future. Who knows if the Devil Rays suddenly become a threat for the AL East Pennant Race? If the Yankees really need an outfielder, they might as well call-up Richard Hidalgo. I have no clue what he is accomplishing in the minor leagues, since he was signed less than two weeks ago. They can also alternate between Melky Cabrera, Bernie Williams and Terrance Long. However, I think the best bet would be Richard Hidalgo who has still a good few years left in him. Melky Cabrera isn't bad either, although he isn't a great source of power. As much as I like Bernie Williams, I don't see him playing everyday in right-field. The good news is that Derek Jeter was back in the order tonight and had an impressive 2-RBI performance (including the game-winning RBI single). At least we are sure that he is alright, and we have one less thing to worry about. Jason Giambi Stats to Date:15 HRs and 43 RBIs Last edited by MJHMarc : 06-02-2006 at 10:06 PM.

Re: Sheffield may be done i really dont want to to see the yanks trade for hitting. Im sure we will see torre coach like its 96-97 and hit and run more and steal some more bases which i would perfer to see. if the yanks make any trades and its not for an AL pitcher im going to be pissed. Im sorry im tired of the NL pitchers coming to the yanks besides shacon what has, johnson, vazquez, pavano, wright, done for us. What pitchers do you think will be out there for them to attempt to get, that would be resonably priced

Cashman was on the radio yesterday with Mike and the Mad Dog and he said they're not trading young talent for an outfielder. While he said nobody was untouchable, he said Wang and Canoe were pretty close. I guess the days of bringing in stiffs like Raul Mondesi are over. That's good to hear. Because it always comes down to pitching anyhow.

Re: Sheffield may be done I think the Yankees should focus on re-signing solid veterans, like Mariano Rivera and Mike Mussina. Then, they can start looking deeper into the available pitching aces. Don't forget that most of the players on this list will re-sign with their team and only a few will be released onto the market. I can't see some of the teams letting those players go!
