This is the last year for Yankee Stadium as we know it today. The Yankees will re-create the exterior of the original Yankee Stadium, which opened in 1923, when they christen the new version next spring. They will bring back the famous frieze, and the field dimensions will be the same as today.

I attended one game at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. Great atmosphere and great baseball. I will never forget it.

I'm hoping to take a trip up that way this year. It's only 150 miles to NYC, and I think it will be worth it to check it out!

It certainly will be an odd year, but also an exciting one for all of baseball. The All-Star game will be fun and a celebration of the ballpark and all its history.

defiantly a great ballpark and defiantly one you have to visit at least once, had the opportunity to go last season to see the Yankees play the Red Sox and between the atmosphere and just feeling the history inside the stadium, was just great...a real piece of baseballing history

It's bittersweet. Like Empire said, it will offer a great season of nostalgic looks back, especially at the All-Star Game, but deep down it still feels like it's wrong getting rid of the ballpark. I fully understand all the reasoning behind it, but it just seems like such a shame, such a loss to shut down the House that Ruth Built.
