In today's game between the two, the Yankee starter was ejected after hitting a Rays batter with a pitch in the first inning (the starter was some minor guy who had no control, so there was no beef then). In the 2nd inning, Yankee Shelly Duncan slid into 2nd with his spikes up. Rays' Jonny Gomes ran in all the way from right to take a swing as benches cleared.

Haven't seen any video yet. Both Duncan and Gomes along with a few coaches were ejected.

I knew that was gonna happen after last weeks collision at the plate between the rays/yankees

i just like to see the yanks not acting like robots, they actually have a personality this year, other then the men with the largest wallets. maybe its the hockey player in me, but this event makes me excited for the year

Girardi is making a statement that he is not Joe Torre, who had his team play the game almost in an effort not to hurt anyone's feelings. Gotta love it.
