Wang loses arbitration case

Chien-Ming Wang lost his arbitration case to the Yankees yesterday.

Instead of the $4.6 million he asked for, he'll only get $4 million - still the second highest amount ever for a pitcher in his first abritration case.

Re: Wang loses arbitration case

The sad thing about this is the Yankees had to show how Wang is not a big game pitcher to win the arbitration case. Now they want him to be their ace.

I'm sure he's thrilled.

Re: Wang loses arbitration case

Ha ha, yeah... business is business, I guess. Hopefully both sides can easly forget this and move on. Maybe for motivation the Yankees can say, "Okay, we won the argument and said that you're not a big game pitcher. Now go out there and prove us wrong!"

Cool Re: Wang loses arbitration case

I don't think it's Wang's personality to hold a grudge and besides, when he's eligible for free agency he's going to break the bank. Look at the amount medicore pitchers like Gil Meche got.

How many years til he breaks the bank? Not the guy I would imagine as a team's ace though...good pitcher...but i don't see him as an ace.
