Yankees Stll Interested in Santana?

It seems there are conflicting stories coming out of Yankeeland. If you believe one of the Yankee owners, Hank Steinbrenner, the Yankees are still "in it" for Johan Santana.

If you believe GM Brian Cashman, the Yankees have passed on trying to acquire the ace.

Sounds like there is some confusion, or just another owner who can't stop talking.

its simple, cashman had an agreement with the real boss, that he had control of the day to day decisions, Hank and Hal now belive they need control like their father use to, and this is going to cause alot of problems IMO, the yankees have built a great youth movment under cashman. i belive Cashman is doing it the right way like the yanks did during their 90's dynasty, Hank and Hal wanna continue it like the 2000's which didnt work and will never work. let cashman have control let him make the choices, just cause u were born with a silver spoon in ur mouth doesnt mean ur going to make a great gm. Cashman has proven he is a great gm so let him do his job

This could just be the Yankees blowing smoke trying to get Minnesota to come down in their asking.

Cool Re: Yankees Stll Interested in Santana?

This subject is almost getting as tiring as whether Brett Favre is going to retire. Enough with the talk. Either get him or don't.

Its going to take time, though. They need to wait until Minnesota's ready to panic and settle for a lesser deal.
