ESPN just broke the news: Roger Clemens named in Mitchell Report.

Apparently his former strength and conditioning coach confessed to giving the former Yankees pitcher steroids. So, anyone surprised?

I am a little surprised only because I figured the majority of steroid users were hitters, but from what I hear, there will be more pitchers than hitters on the report.

And it makes me wonder if Andy Pettitte, Clemens buddy and whose sized increased in his trunk big time in the last few years will be on the report, also.

Pettitte has just been fingered. ESPN is reporting so much this morning. The source is apparently the Yanks former strength coach.

The report says McNamee injected Clemens with winstrol several times in 1998.

Then Clemens persuaded the Yankees to bring McNamee aboard in 2000. Later that year, McNamee injected Clemens "four to six times with human growth hormone."

Then in August 2001, Clemens told McNamee he was going to use steroids again. McNamee again injected Clemens with steroids on four or five occasions. This was the last time McNamee injected him with steroids and he has no knowledge if Clemens ever used again.

I do not see how he missed the Hall if you keep the records, awards and pennants of the whole tainted era.

See, that's the point...If its across the board...either is okay with me...

Cases like this will be interesting when the writers get them. Some will refuse to vote for a guy who they feel cheated the sport (no matter what others did or didn't do).

Others will go based on performance without regard to steroids/GH.

The current and retired players should be the ones voting the players into the Hall, not the holier than thou sportswriters. Like I said before, I hope none of them use any pills that begin with V to perform better, as it can be construed as "cheating."

Now we will find if we treat Barry Bonds the way we do is because he is on steroids or because of his personality, because which ever you choose you have to treat rocket the same way.
