Another blah outing from Randy

6 and 2/3rds, 7 hits and 5 earned runs. He threw 92 pitches, 62 for strikes. Offense bailed him out again. He is now 5-2 with a plus 5.00 ERA.

Re: Another blah outing from Randy

He's giving up five runs a game and has still gone 5-2? Man, he must have some kind of run support. Makes you wonder how Maddux, Pedro or Clemens would fair with that kind of offensive support. They might go undefeated!

Re: Another blah outing from Randy

The Yankees are good at making starters throw alot of pitches. Once the starters come out, almost everybody's middle bullpen guys are suspect (including the Yankees). This is where they do a lot of their damage. Of course, Tampa Bay's bullpen has no major league talent in it to begin with at this point.

Re: Another blah outing from Randy

Randy leads the league in wins (tied with Jose Contreras), so he has to be doing something right. But, yeah, he better shape up. He has streaks- good streaks and bad streaks. But the Yankee offense is helping him win, even when he is going through a bad streak.

Cool Re: Another blah outing from Randy

Randy's 42 years old. You really have to wonder whether he will be that dominant pitcher he once was.

Re: Another blah outing from Randy

Sure, all is ok now. But what happens if the Yankees make the playoffs? Then they start facing really great picthers who may not let the Yankees score 9 runs per game.

scary thought.
