Alex Rodriguez AL MVP Award Winner

Alex Rodriguez has been named the American League's Most Valuable Player today. His 2007 season included a career high in runs (143) and RBIs (156). He led the sport with 54 home runs.

He garnered all but two first-place votes and ended up with 328 total points. Detroit's Magglio Ordonez received the other two first-place votes and finished with 258 total points.

A-Rod is the fifth player in the AL to win his 3rd MVP award.

No surprise. Without him, there's no way New York gets into the playoffs.

Cool Re: Alex Rodriguez AL MVP Award Winner

There were 2 writers from Detroit who didn't vote for A-Rod. They voted for Maglio Ordonez, instead. What a joke. Aren't these writers who vote for this award supposed to be somewhat unbiased?

That places him in select company...Berra, Mantle and Dimaggio...select company...1st ballot Hall of Famer, right?

Cool Re: Alex Rodriguez AL MVP Award Winner

If he retired now, he would be a 1st ballot HOF. I have a feeling that by the time he retires, people may be arguing whether he was better than Babe Ruth.

He is better than Babe Ruth, and he deserves this for all the minutia he has put up with in New York.

Love him or hate him, unless he does something real stupid in the next few years he will be a lock.

If you say so. However, the Press could pull any type of skeleton out of his closet - new or old.

Since you're new here you need to understand i have ZERO love for the media. Most everything they put out there is all bunk to me, and I'm not even an A-Rod fan.

The Media greatly influences the game, and is the primary cause of corruption in sports.

We should make a faction.
