A-Rod Yankee Deal Almost Complete

The Journal News' Peter Abraham reports the New York Yankees are close to finalizing a deal with Alex Rodriguez. The terms of the deal are reportedly, 7-years for $275 million.

Abraham wrote:
"In what was a bad day for the Scott Boras Corporation, Alex Rodriguez went to the Yankees directly and apparently has all but finalized a 10-year, $275 million deal.

It took 32 years and nationwide scorn but it seems A-Rod is finally his own man. Good for him and good for the Yankees.

By leaving money on the table, Rodriguez erases the stain of opting out the way he did. The Yankees also don’t lose face as Alex came back to them. The only loser is Boras, who had dreams of Rodriguez landing a $350 million deal. Boras wasn’t fired but clearly he was circumvented."

$24,000 and change per game. Posada must feel like he got taken at only $8000 plus per game. Mike Lowell will hopefully now sign with the Red Sox.

Posada is over paid. At least A-Rod puts fans in the seats.

No doubt he does but that is a ton of bux !!! The $24K figure would be if he played every game for the next 7 years. Not gonna happen.

Very interesting how the Scott Boras factor has played. Unless A-Rod has fired him, I wonder how the MLBPA will play this. The Yankees said they wouldn't negotiate with Boras. Can't do that according to the bargaining agreement.

Cool Re: A-Rod Yankee Deal Almost Complete

Boras really screwed up. If they just would have negotiated before he opted out, he would have ended up with so much more.

Poor A-Rod. I think we should all send some money to him. I mean - the man has got to eat.

What does the collective bargaining agreement say about agents trying to hold ballclubs ranson for insane amounts of money? Just curious.

They completed an outline of a 10-year 275 million dollar deal. Damn Yankees steal stars away from the Cubs
