A-Rod named Best Clutch Hitter

According to MLB.com, "Alex Rodriguez didn't just put up Ruthian numbers in 2007 -- he got in his knocks when they counted. It all added up to A-Rod becoming the inaugural recipient of the Major League Baseball Clutch Performer of the Year, presented by Pepsi. The officially sanctioned award recognizes the player who performed his best when the game was on the line." I know opinions will likely vary greatly, so let's hear it - do you agree with this selection or not?

He is great hitter but I will only assume that the award doesn't take into account the post season.

I don't know why, but I keep coming back to Matt Holliday and Jimmy Rollins during their team's respective runs at the end of the regular season.

Naw, Post season is always off the voting...I mean I am suprise he won, but wasn't he a key reason the Yankees got to the post season in the first place.

But I'm not talking postseason, I'm talking their late season runs to get into the playoffs.

I think matt holliday deserved it, theres nothing clutch about a-rod..of course they gave david wright a gold glove so why am I suprised..

What league, what inning?...if its early and its the NL...I take A-Rod, least Ortiz have to go play the field...

A-Rod is a great clutch hitter to have up - if you're the opposing team. The bigger the spot the worse he does.
